Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Large Oceanfront Condo - Family Friendly, Beautiful Views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
