Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Start by having your group select date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Elevated Serenity 8th Flr Beachfront Getaway has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
