Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Booking in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. A224 Myrtle Beach Resort: Lovely 2 Bed 2 Bath Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.

- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
