How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Unparalleled Beauty! Oceanfront Suite @ Camelot has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
