Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Coastal Comfort Ocean View 2BDR Condo 16th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
