Our top Vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Low Floor Beachfront Bliss: Suite for Eight Guests has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
