Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Luxurious Condo w\/Jacuzzi and Floor to ceiling glass has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is optimal for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
