Our top Rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Charming 1-bedroom condo in brilliant Myrtle Beach with AC, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
