How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Large Oceanfront 3 Bdrm (11th Floor) - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
