Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking the rightrental:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Large Oceanfront 3 Bdrm (11th Floor) - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
