Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking yourvacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. SLEEP 10-Allow 12 3br\/2ba Golf & Pool-BROADWAY @ THE BEACH #766033 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If not, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
