Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Luxury Oceanview 2 bed \/ 2 bath - by Luxury Beach Rentals! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
