Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding the best value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Suite, Myrtle Beach SC has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.

- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental.
