Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
How to pick the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Casa Palmera By Casanita
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Additional considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
