Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family choose vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Magnolia Pointe Luster Leaf 4837-301 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
