How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the perfect rental:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Maritime Bliss: 1 Bdrm Suite Oceanfront 10th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
