Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Modern and Fun! 3 Bedroom Suite With Indoor Waterpark and Slides! Sleeps 12! Dunes Village 338 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
