Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. CORNER Ocean FRONT unit with 180 Degree Beach View with wrap-around deck! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
