Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by having your family commit to dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Modern beach house steeps from the ocean has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
