Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Ocean Front condo with private pool, beach access. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
