How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Updated Condo, Amenities! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
