Finding the best vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort 9th floor Studio with Incredible View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
