Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 9th floor Studio with Incredible Views @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
