Vacation rental tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the best rental:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. A Day at the Dunes! , 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Condo close to all North Myrtle Beach has to Offer! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
