Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book the right Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A347 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Comfortable 2 Bedroom Condo with Bunk Beds has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
