Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Holiday Towers, beautiful ocean view has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
