Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Fantastic Condo with Villa View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
