Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your family choose trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. T1512 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Waves of Relaxation: A Beachfront Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
