How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. T1512 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Waves of Relaxation: A Beachfront Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
