Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort RT1213 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
