Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • To start, have your family agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. “Almost Perfect” would love to be your vacation home for 2023. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
