How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Magnolia Lake. Ocean Lakes, pet friendly, Golf cart included. 2 blocks to beach. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
