Our top Rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- First and foremost, have your family select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Magnolia Lake. Ocean Lakes, pet friendly, Golf cart included. 2 blocks to beach. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
