How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Suite w\/ Fantastic View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
