Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Gorgeous 9th floor 2BR condo w\/amazing views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
