Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book the bestrental:
- First and foremost, have your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. New, Beautiful Decor, Meridian Plaza, Pools, Nice! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
