Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group choose date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. New Built Home Oceanview w\/ garage Myrtle Beach near Boardwalk has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
