How to find the best rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. New Built Home Oceanview w\/ garage Myrtle Beach near Boardwalk has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
