Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- To find the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Luxury Resort Condo With Floor to Ceiling Views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Have a wonderful stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
