How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:

  • Start by having your family select a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Endless Summer Getaway
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
