Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront South Wind Unit 706: Spacious 5-Bedroom Condo in Myrtle Beach has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
