Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your family commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront South Wind Unit 706: Spacious 5-Bedroom Condo in Myrtle Beach has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
