Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:

- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.

- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
