Tips to get the very best rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Paradise Three-Bedroom Condo 8th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
