Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. UPDATED Ocean front Caravelle Resort condo w\/full kitchen & KING BED has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
