Vacation rental tips:
Finding your best deal:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Ocean View Condo Steps Away From the Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
