Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your group choose dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. MAKE YOUR PLANS NOW, WE ARE ACCEPTING SPRING & SUMMER RENTALS FOR 2025!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
