Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Excellence Deluxe Rm 2nd Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If not, call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
