Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the perfect rental home:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful 1 Bedroom Condo in Ocean Creek has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is suitable for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
