Booking the best rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful 1 Bedroom Condo in Ocean Creek has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
