Strategies for getting the perfect vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Location, location!!! Ocean view free golf cart and jacuzzi, WIFI, Smart TV has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
