Tips for getting the best rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Perfect Vacation walk to the beach (11) has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
