Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- To get the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:
- Start by having your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Perfect Vacation walk to the beach (11) has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
