Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Newly updated 15th floor 2br condo @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
