Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Newly Upgraded Great 1 bdrm oceanfront condo Near Broadwalk and Downtown has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
