How to find the best rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best vacation rental:
- First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Newly Upgraded Great 1 bdrm oceanfront condo Near Broadwalk and Downtown has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
