Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Royale Palms 2307 - Has Access To ALL Resort Amenities has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
