Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Royale Palms 2307 - Has Access To ALL Resort Amenities has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
