Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean Blue 401 - Oceanfront, Indoor Lazy River, Pool has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
