Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Ocean Blue 401 - Oceanfront, Indoor Lazy River, Pool has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
