Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 2nd Floor, Dog Friendly 1 BR, Oceanview, Pools has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
